Manas National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site & Project Tiger reserve (391 sq.km), located in Assam-Bhutan foothills along Manas River. Declared sanctuary 1928, tiger reserve 1973, national park 1990. Known for Bengal tigers, Indian rhinos, wild water buffalos, pygmy hogs, golden langurs. Diverse ecosystems: grasslands, tropical forests, riverine habitats supporting 60+ mammals, 450+ birds, 50+ reptiles.

Threatened by poaching, floods, human-wildlife conflict - conservation efforts include anti-poaching patrols, community involvement. Accessible via Guwahati (176km), Barpeta Road (70km), best Oct-May. Activities: jeep safaris, elephant rides, birdwatching, nature walks. Stay forest lodges, witness rhino sightings, tiger tracks.
